Muutama seuraava postaus tulee olemaan “piilossa” linkin takana, koska yritän pitää kokoamani äitiyspaketin sisällön vielä yllätyksenä siskolleni. Ja Sisko-kulta, ei kurkita!
The next few posts will be “hidden” behind a link because I’d like the contents of my “New Mommy-package” to be a surprise for my sister. And Dear Sis, no peeking!
Katsoit kuitenkin, etkös?/ You looked anyway, didn’t you?
Tässä kuitenkin menee… Eli tuleva siskontyttö/-poika tulee olemaan täysin vaatetettu Suomen viileässä syksyssä. Ensimmäisenä esitellään uusi puuvillainen asukokonaisuus tädin pikku kätösten kutomana.
Well, the cat’s out of the bag anyway so… My future niece or nephew will not be lacking in warm clothing this Fall and Winter. First up is a brand new cotton outfit made by auntie (yours truly) during August.

Ensimmäisenä täytyy ihmetellä, kuinka nopeaa vauvan vaatteiden neulominen on!
First up I’ll have to marvel at how fast it is to knit baby stuff! A sweater and even pants are finished in record time when the recipient is less than three feet tall (the knits are sized 0-6 months). You’d think this was obvious from the start but some people are so thick that it doesn’t really register until they’ve tried it themselves. On the other hand, the cotton yarn almost kicked my ass again, since my wrists really couldn’t have taken any more than this. But machine washable cotton was the only reasonable choice for an outfit that will hopefully be worn many times during the Fall, Winter and maybe even Spring.
Oh, and Mister would like it to be publicly stated that Simo the Hedgehog who is featured in the pictures is not in anyway affiliated with the “Mom-package” and was only reluctantly loaned for the purposes of “getting cute baby-pictures”, whatever that is.
What an adorable ensemble–your sister will be thrilled, no doubt about i!
Super-cute baby things. Mister looks extra-alert for any invasion of his territory by evil babies!
Ihania! Ja Mister siileineen :D
Onpa suloiset! Näyttää ihanan pehmoisilta, kyllä vauvan kelpaa juu. :)
Ihana puku!
Mister on mainio :D
Ihana setti!
Cute baby ensemble!!
And Mister does look like he’s on high alert! :)
Kaunis setti, pikkuisilla valkoiset vaatteet näyttävät ihanilta.
Don’t worry, I’m one of the “thick” few too – I couldn’t believe how incredibly QUICK it was to knit baby socks!
Lovely outfit – seed st is perfect for baby clothes. And it seems that Mister would like is toy back. Now. Please. :)
Onpa suloinen puku, ottaisinpa mielelläni tuollaisen itsellenikin. :-)
Cute. My sister’s need to have more babies. My niece is almost 3 now so it takes me a little longer to knit things, but it is still comparatively fast.
Awww, cute baby stuff! I love the placket-neck sweater, I need to remember that for future baby knits.
Oh I LOVE that outfit! I have at least three new baby friends due in the next few months so you have encouraged me to get going.
If I took a toy from any of my three dastardly little mutts, even for a brief photo, I could not answer for the safety of the knitted item! (You might remember the saga of Muffy the Yarnslayer and the scarlet cashmere?)
